A wise man once stated: "The first rule of any technology used in a business is that automation applied to an efficient operation will magnify the efficiency. The second is that automation applied to an inefficient operation will magnify the inefficiency." This wise man was Bill Gates.

If the above quote is not abundantly clear allow me to explain further. The point that Mr. Gates is trying to get across is one that I firmly believe in and many business owners often miss; lack of technical efficiency cannot be remedied by newly introduced additions to existing systems but rather with a revamp or rework of the current processes already in place. Only after existing applications have been optimized can new tools be introduced to improve total system alignment.
